GOV DICKSON TO NIGERIANS; WORK WITH SECURITY AGENCIES TO PROTECT OURNATION’S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY AND SOVEREIGNTY

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has called on all well meaning Nigerians to collaborate with the security agencies to collectively protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Governor Dickson who made the call when a team of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL), led by its Team Leader and Commandant,Major General Abubakar Gana paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Yenagoa. Saluting the efforts of the Nigerian Military at ensuring the professionalism of its personnel in service delivery and role innation building, the Governor particularly admonished the political class not to further heat up the polity by playing politics with issues of national security, considering the security challenges currently facing the nation.

While expressing gratitude to the security operatives in the state fortheir gallant efforts in maintaining law and order, Hon. Dickson urged political and opinion leaders to support the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan to succeed in his transformation agenda intended to move the country to the next level.

On the study tour of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics, the number one citizen of the state, intimated officers of the college of government’s developmental strides in infrastructural and human capacity building as well as its investment in security since peace isa prerequisite for development.

Hon. Dickson enjoined the study tour team to enjoy the hospitality of Bayelsans, noting that government would look forward to receiving its report at the end of the tour to enhance governance.

Earlier, Leader of the Team and Commandant of NACOL, Major General Abubakar Gana, had described the college as the foremost logistics training institution in the Nigerian Army established in 2002 to train middle cadre officers in the planning and execution of logistic support during its operations.

He said the students of NACOL were in Bayelsa to undertake a study tour of the state as part of the college’s efforts at broadening the knowledge of the officers in practical experience in management and logistic techniques.

Major General Gana who stated that students of Logistics Staff Course were required to visit a state of their choice during the period of study, explained that Bayelsa was chosen as it was one of the states that have made strategic contributions to the nation’s economy.
